Obama is a follower not a Leader

In recent days Obama is sounding more and more like Edwards using Edwards populists message.

Obama's message has been guided by the prevailing winds of the moment, The only resonable conclusion is that Obama is willing to do anything to get votes, even if he has to compromise his own personal values. It was just a few weeks ago Obama was saying we need to sit down at the table and negotiate with lobbyist, and now he is sounding more and more like Edwards, using the same populist message of Senator Edwards and often using the exact same words of Senator Edwards. Edwards message has been the same from day one of his campaign. This is not the first time that Obama has followed the lead of Edwards. John was the first to go after Hillary in an aggressive manner. This aggressive nature of Edwards gave Obama the courage to to the same.

My question is, does Obama have any core values ? Is he willing to do anything and say anything to get elected ? It seems to me he is taking a page out of Hillary's play book, to get elected at all cost and willing to follow the prevailing winds of the moment and to do and say anything to achieve your goal.

We need a president that is sincere, passionate, trustworthy, smart, and a born leader like John Edwards. Certainly we do not need a follower like Obama.

An Holiday Message from John Edwards

Full Transcript of "Season:

One out of every four homeless people on our streets is a veteran.

Thirty-seven million Americans live in poverty.

Who speaks for them? We do.

This is the season of miracles, of faith and love.

So let us promise together: you will never be forgotten again.

We see you, we hear you, and we will speak for you.

In America, the chance to build a better life is a promise made to each of us, and the obligation to keep it rests with us all.

I am getting Sick and Tired

I am getting sick and tired of hearing people criticize Edwards on having a big house and having money.

Is there something wrong in having money? People fail to realize it is often easier for a person of wealth to do more for the poor. FDR was a man of great means and he was a champion of the poor. Robert Kennedy also had millions, no one ever questioned his dedication of fighting poverty. So what, if John has a big house and he likes to spend money on a fancy hair cut. It is his money to spend. Has he used his money and time to help others? The answer we all know is yes.

ONE BIG DIFFERENCE, EDWARDS WAS BORN POOR. UNLIKE THE ROOSEVELTS AND KENNEDYS, Edwards did not have a winter retreat and he did not attend an Ivy league school. JOHN payed is own way through school. As a young man he actually got his hands dirty.

Many critics of Edwards are just JEALOUS because he is a self made man, Who was taught by his parents the value of hard work and at the same time he was taught to show respect for others. John has never forgotten the people he grew up with. I predict that on January 3 the voters of Iowa won't forget John. Edwards is just one of us that has made good.

Today's quote from John Edwards

We have an epic fight in front of us, and anybody who thinks that's not true is living in a fantasy world ... How long are we going to let insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies run this country? Every time this has happened in our country, the American people have risen up and taken action"

Hillary will say and do anything to get Elected

There she goes again taking credit for her husband's ADMINISTRATION as if she was responsible for the Economic boom in the 90's I will stand corrected if I am wrong, it is my understanding that the former first lady has never held elected office where she would of been in the position to directly effect policy, until she was elected Senator from New York.

I realize HILLARY had her husband's ear as would any spouse have with their partner. She is now taking credit for everything her husband did. Polls are showing that a large portion of her support comes from voters that like Bill not her. IF SHE WOULD WIN she going to win on her husband's coattails. Can anyone name any SIGNIFICANT legislation that she played an important role in passing? She is now claiming she has done more for the poor than John Edwards. I HAVE NEVER HEARD HER SPEAK ABOUT the POOR FROM THE SENATE FLOOR, NOT ONCE.

SHE IS WILLING TO SAY AND DO ANYTHING TO GET ELECTED, WE DO NOT NEED SOMEONE LIKE HER IN OFFICE. DOES POWER MEAN THAT MUCH TO HER?

Those of us that follow the candidates know that John Edwards has a life long commitment in fighting poverty. It is John's signature issue. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/12/19/AR2007121901836.html

Please Remember from John Edwards

John Edwards asks us to remember that one out of every four homeless people on our streets is a veteran and 37 million people in our country live in poverty. He challenges Americans to promise that never again will we forget those without a voice, because “in America, the chance to build a better life is a promise made to each of us, and the obligation to keep it rests with us all."

A quote from John Edwards

''I know the soul of this party and so do you,'' Edwards said. ``It lies deep inside each of us and goes to the core of what we believe not just as Democrats but as Americans. Everyone -- and I mean everyone -- deserves a fair chance, and we have a moral responsibility to help those who are doing everything right, but are still struggling.''

Nader will not support Obama

Ralph Nader stated today on "Hard Ball" with Chris Matthew that he would not support Obama for President. Nader implied that he COULD support John Edwards if John would get the Dems Nomination.

Obama To Timid to be President

In the last Democratic debate the moderator asked each candidate what their New Year resolution is going to be.

In a very honest moment Obama said he had a problem of being to "timid".

The GOP in a general election will go after Obama using Obama's own words against him. A timid candidate to the Republicans is a weak candidate they would just love to go after him. Is Obama to timid to stand up against special interest groups, lobbyist ,bad trade deals, and other nations who would love to do us harm? Wait a second maybe that's what the multi- national corporation want a timid president? The way I see it, it would be a win win situation for the multi- national corporation. If a Republican wins they would have one of their own like Bush in the White House or if Obama would win he would be to timid to stand up to them.

One thing the Democrats do not need is a timid candidate, going up against the Republicans' attack machine.
John Edwards has proven he is not timid and would be a strong candidate for the Democratic Party. The last thing our nations needs with all the Problems we have here at home and abroad, is a timid president.

Here is a quote from Senator Obama during the debate. "And so I have to constantly remind myself not to be timid, not to be distorted by the fears of losing in order to make a real difference in the lives of the American people".

Edwards wins Debate In Iowa

According to CNN's and Fox's News debate focus groups made up of all undecided Democrats, they felt former Senator Edwards was the clear winner in the debate held earlier today. Hillary and Obama a very close second and third. Edwards was clear and to the point when he spoke.

The tide might be turning in favor of Edwards as Clinton and Obama fight. Edwards is looking like an excellent alternative with his great debate performance. Let us keep the Bus Rolling. (The Main Street Express) http://www.iowapolitics.com/index.iml?Article=113108

It is Crunch time Folks

Senator Edwards has called the last three weeks before the Iowa's Caucus " CRUNCH TIME ". This is the time that MOST UNDECIDED VOTERS are going to pay more attention to the candidates in order to make their decision who they are going to support.

Senator Edwards needs to get his message out. I have been as frustrated as much as anyone with the lack of national media coverage Senator Edwards has been receiving. As a result of this lack of coverage, it is important for John to receive as much local press coverage as possible in IOWA. He needs to crisscross Iowa as much as possible now going directly to the voters. In other words folks we need to keep Edwards' BUS rolling (The Main Street Express).

If you are in a position to donate money or even volunteer possibly to go to Iowa and help, now is the time. We all need to do our part to help Edwards to cross the finish line. We need to prove to the national press that they better take our cause more seriously, and pay more attention to John's Campaign. If you have been holding off in donating money, NOW is the time folks it is "CRUNCH TIME". We might not have many more chances. If we do not help out In Iowa, NOW!!

Ambassador Young is Right

Recently former Ambassador and Mayor of Atlanta, Andrew Young stated " This is not Obama's time". He went on to say that Obama does not have the political network too win in a general election.

I agree with Ambassador Young. Obama cannot win. When you consider all the positive press that Obama has been receiving in the last three to four weeks his over all poll numbers have only marginally improved. Especially when you consider how much of a nose dive Hillary's poll numbers have been taking, one must considered the possibly that Obama's numbers might be topping out.

If you agree, this up coming presidential election is one of the most important elections in our nation's history , and if your considering in supporting Obama, there is several questions you need to ask yourself. Is Obama the best candidate to win in a general election? Is America ready to elect an African American male, who's middle name just happens to be Hussien? Is he aggressive and strong enough to take on the Republican attack machine? I know it is sad when we have to consider one's ethic back ground not to mention gender or religious affiliations when considering a candidate.
The answer for all the above questions for me is NO. We must deal with the reality of the situation. Obama cannot win in a general election. I wish all elections were determine by the position that a candidate takes on issues, but we all know that is not the case.

The Democratic Party in the last 40 years have nominated candidates if not dead on arrival in entering the general election they were certainly on life support. The two candidates that were an exception had one thing in common, they were from the south. This time around the only candidate from the south is John Edwards and it just happens, that independent polling shows he would be the strongest candidate going up against the Republicans in the general. We can go ahead and nominate Obama or even Hillary for that matter. Is it worth the risk considering what is at stake? My answer once again is NO. We have to nominate Edwards.

Our party was pragmatic in the ninety because we wanted to win so we nominated Bill Clinton. Let us be pragmatic once again and nominate Edwards because we need to win.

A Battle For America

We are at war at home. On one side you have the multi-national corporations such as Oil, Gas, Drug, Insurance, and others. On the other side we have the vast majority of American people, the middle class. Do you remember them? This is the group that does most of the working, buying, living, and dying in this country.
The American people have been sold into slavery by many of our elected officials in Washington. Those elected officials have received their payments in the form of political donations. The slave traders are the lobbyist.
This is a second "Great Civil War". The corporations in question want to have absolute power over the American people, and our way of life. This war is not being fought with bullets, but is being fought with corporate money on one side and righteousness, fairness, and compassion on the other side. This is a battle for the heart and soul of America.
In January of 1863 Abraham Lincoln signed the " Emancipation Proclamation" declaring forever that all slaves are free. One hundred and forty years later on another cold January day the caucus goers of Iowa can declare with one clear voice, " we are going to take back America", and the battle begins in Iowa to free the American people from bondage.
All fair minded people of Iowa should support John Edwards for President. John is a warrior who would be our nation's next great president. Edwards possesses the courage and strength of character to take back our country from those greedy corporations that control us. A vote for Edwards is a vote for freedom and our way of life. I support John Edwards. I hope and pray that Iowa does, and then the nation

The most Electable Democrat is Edwards

My first exposure to politics in a sense was with my mom, we were both watching on television the funeral procession of John F. Kennedy. I was sitting on the floor, I just happened to glance over to my mom, and for the first time in my life I saw my mom crying. Kennedy's death was a lost of hope, and promise of what could have been. From that moment on I became a Democrat.
Several years later I was watching the victory speech of Robert Kennedy after he had just won the Democratic Primary in California. In Robert, many people saw a second chance for the hope and the promise for America. The very next morning when I awoke, I flipped on the radio and to my disbelief Robert Kennedy was shot. It was my turn to shed a few tears.
From that day on I became active in the Democratic Party. I was elected as a delegate to my state's Democratic convention on three different occasions, 1980, 1984 and 1992. In the 2000 election, I became a full time volunteer at my local Democratic campaign office. I was there so much the state party decided to put me on their payroll. In the 2002 mid-term election, I was asked to work again, and I was placed on their payroll once again. In the 2004 election I worked as many hours as I could to help Kerry in the general election. So when it comes to politics I am not a complete novice, in what I am about to say, it just might give me a little more creditability.
I have learned over the years to be pragmatic when it comes to politics. I will support the democratic nominee regardless who it is, and I will do whatever I can to help the Democratic Ticket. However, I cannot see how Hillary Clinton or even Obama can win in a general election. Hillary is so despised by the Republicans she would help to unite her opposition. She would do poorly with the independent voters. Obama is to green and he is going to be an easy target for the Swift Boat crowed. For example' his middle name is Hussein his father was a Muslim and the Republican operatives are going to do to him exactly what they did to Harold Ford in the "Call Me" ad.
The Best candidate would be John Edwards. John would be competitive in Blue and many of the red states. Edwards is very articulate and has a great television persona not unlike Robert Kennedy's Edwards has already shown that he has the courage and the compassion and the strength of character to be an excellent President. We should all rally around Senator Edwards he would be the Democrats best, but more importantly our nations best hope.

Heart to Heart in Iowa

coots in News 12/02/2007 at 9:54 AM EST
On November 20th Mr. Don Ketchum was attending the last of the Jackson Browne and Bonnie Raitt Concerts in Iowa benefiting John Edwards, but before the concert began Mr. Ketchum's heart stopped beating, and he was rushed to Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
Later on that night Mr. Ketchum was in his hospital bed, his sister sitting beside him, when Senator Edwards came walking into his room to visit him and to provide emotional support for his sister. It would have been very easy for Senator Edwards to move on to his next campaign event, but he chose not to. He felt it was important for him to be there.
Mr. Ketchum recovered to the point where he could attend a John Edwards event in Des Moines earlier today.

John Edwards certainly has the compassion and the strength of character to be our next president.
